E~Notary Services
Any document to be notarized must have the proper wording and setup for notarization. Electronic documents are no exception. In this form however the document is usually prepared by a legal entity and will be set in a secure form and be complete. If it does not, the signer MUST contact the entity that requested the notarization and ascertain the type of notarization required. And as with any notarization the same process is involved.
- Appearance- The signer must be present. They are adding their signature to the document. The notary is attesting that you were properly identified and capable and willing to sign.
- Wording- The wording of an electronic document remains the same as a paper document. It must be worded correctly for proper notarization. And it must be complete with no blank areas.
- Electronic Signature- The definition of an "electronic signature" is any word, symbol or sound that can be attached to the document by electronic means. the signature will consist of typing your proper name or capturing it on a signature pad.
- Notary Seal- An "electronic notary seal" is a digital certificate that has been issued to the notary. It will validate the notarial seal and the notary in real time when a connection to the internet is available.
- Security- If the document is in a secure form, the seal will then prevent any changes to the document after the digital certificate is affixed.
Always remember a Notary Public is not an Attorney, we can not provide forms, give legal advice or draw any documents. Nor can a PA Notary Public perform a marriage. If you are in need of legal advice, legal defense or a legal document drafted, please contact an attorney of your choice.
